Are You Ready For Winter?

  • Are You Ready For Winter?

Last month I was ready to start thinking about ski season, now it's time to really start preparing.

You've probably written your gear wish list, seen a movie premiere or two, and maybe decided on your season pass. Locals are putting their summer gear in storage and busting out their winter equipment.

In Utah, we take many extra steps. With Snowbird reporting 783'' last year you know there is a lot more where that came from.  There will be many opportunities to call in sick with the Powder flu. In fact, I've got friends working on their "coughs" and "Doctor's notes" - all creating the perfect excuse to use that sick day to get out of work and onto the slopes.

We do wall sits.

We load up our mp3 players with the perfect tunes.

We polish up our GoPros, and dig out our snorkels!

Here's a few more tricks and tips to let you know what really goes on in the mind of a Powderhound preparing for the upcoming season. Enjoy!

Don't forget, Friday was the official start to fall. It is now absolutely time to start offering a sacrifice to the snow gods!

Did we miss anything? What do you do to prepare?

@Wasatch. Grow up man. I follow Cat religiously and some of her pieces are meant to be funny while some are meant to be informational.

Some are meant to be funny and some informational? Which was this? I think you guys should do new bloggers every year, unless someone is amazing- like Matt. Nothing but excellent info and get you psyched footage out of that guy. Cat? Not so much.

Dear Scott,
I'll tell you what I wouldn't do:
Post a**hole comments on the web. But that's just me.

Cry me a river, Jesus. To be fair, Cat's latest blog about ski movies was great.

Thanks everyone. Whether you love or think not-so-much of my posts/cheesy videos, your feedback helps me try to keep everyone engaged while still going for the out-on-a-limb unique attitude I want to bring to skiing over all.
I hope this means you'll let them keep me Scott! :)

Cat, sorry if I scuffed your topsheets. You're doing fine. I'm sure your take on Utah skiing does appeal to many. I think seeing your video after reading last month's Jaded Local in Powder got me all worked up.
